Content Marketing Formula for Coaches to Get Clients

Are you creating content every week… but still not getting clients?

I used to post nonstop and still had an empty calendar. But once I fixed my content, everything changed.

Clients started reaching out, my audience grew with people excited to hear from me, and I finally started making some real money in my coaching business.

I’ve also helped hundreds of coaches and experts do the same.

So, in this video, I’ll show you:

  • Why most content fails
  • The simple formula I use to consistently attract high-paying clients
  • Exactly how to turn your free content into sales

By the end of this, you’ll know how to position yourself as the go-to expert in your space, even if you’re new to content creation and don’t have a big audience.

Why Most Content Fails

Every single minute, people upload over five hundred hours of video to YouTube.

And more than a thousand new posts go up every second on Instagram.

The online world is so competitive now, so you need to know how to capture and hold people's attention - especially if you’re trying to sell coaching, courses, and things like that.

But here’s the problem most coaches and online educators face with their content:

They think the answer to getting more business is just posting more.

And most people are posting the same boring stuff.

  • Quick tips.
  • Motivational quotes everyone’s already heard.
  • Random ideas that never start a real conversation.

They’re playing it safe, and it’s putting their audience to sleep.

It’s like standing on a busy street corner yelling random facts at strangers.

You might get some attention, but nothing meaningful comes from it.

Nobody stops to learn more about who you are or how you can help them.

And that’s exactly what happens when you don’t have a plan for your content. It just gets lost in the noise.

The real reason most content doesn’t work is because it doesn’t take people on a journey.

It might be interesting and helpful… but if it doesn’t move anyone to take the next step, like hiring you, then what’s the point?

Likes and views don’t pay the bills. Clients do.

And one of the biggest reasons your content doesn’t get the attention it deserves is because your titles aren’t pulling people in.

You could have amazing content, but if the title doesn’t grab attention, nobody clicks.

That’s why I put together a free guide with 50 Catchy Title Formulas you can swipe for your videos, emails, or social media posts.

It’s a super quick way to stand out in a crowded feed and get more people watching your stuff.

Content really works when it connects with people, inspires them to trust you, and invites them to take action.

When you do that, your content will finally bring in the clients and business you deserve.

So the question is: how do you create content that does that?

Well, there’s a simple 4-step structure I use that quickly turns your content into a trust building machine. And it works whether you’re just starting out or already established.

Once you learn it, you’ll never look at content the same way again.

The Simple Formula

Just a heads up - I didn’t invent this formula.

I’ve learned this over the years from many great marketers and successful content creators.

But I use it all the time, and I teach it to my private coaching clients because it’s simple, it works, and it helps your content actually bring in business instead of just likes.

This formula is best for long-form content like blogs, podcasts, or YouTube videos - which are the best platforms to grow your coaching business with - but it can work for short-form content as well.

It’s called the H.I.V.E. Framework.

H stands for Hook.

You have about 5 seconds to grab attention before someone scrolls away.

And if your first line doesn’t hook them, they’re gone.

There are lots of hooks you can use like a mistake hook, a credibility hook, a myth-busting hook, or a story hook.

But two of the simplest and most powerful are the bold statement and the question hook.

For example, I opened this video by asking: ‘Are you creating content every week… but still not getting clients?’

That’s a question hook.

And it made you feel something like a little curiosity, maybe even a little called out — which is why you’re still here listening.

I stands for Intro.

This is where you set expectations.

Tell people what they’re going to learn, why it matters, and why they should listen to you.

For example, I opened this video saying:

‘I used to post nonstop and still had an empty calendar. But once I fixed my content, everything changed. Clients started reaching out, my audience grew with people excited to hear from me, and I finally

gained the freedom, income, and impact I wanted. I’ve also helped hundreds of coaches and experts do the same.’

I showed proof so you’d believe me, then I followed it up with:

‘So, in this video I’ll show you why most content fails, the simple formula I use to consistently attract high-paying clients, and real examples of how to turn your posts into sales.’

That’s what makes an effective Intro.

  • It grabs their attention
  • Shows your credibility
  • Sets up the value they’ll get by sticking around.

Coupled with your Hook, this should take about 30 seconds before diving into your content.

By then, your audience is bought in, excited to learn more from you, and see you as someone worth listening to.

V stands for Value.

This is the heart of your content.

You’re simply going to deliver what you promised in the title and intro.

Break your content into 3 to 5 simple, actionable steps so people can follow along and get a quick win.

Keep it as short as possible, but still comprehensive, so they feel like they got real value without you wasting their time.

E stands for Ending CTA.

Here’s something most coaches and content creators never understand…

When people sense your video is ending, they usually click away.

So, instead of just asking them to subscribe, use this moment to guide them to the next video or post.

This makes people watch more of your content, which builds trust fast because they’re spending extra time with you.

Tell them why watching the next video or reading the next post will actually benefit them, and make that transition as smooth as possible.

If you’re doing short form content, just make an offer to dive deeper with you as your ending CTA.

I’ll show you what to do for long form posts in a minute.

I know this can sound like a lot, so let me show you what this looks like in action.

Let’s say you coach men on how to get more dates using apps, and you’re making a YouTube video called ‘The #1 Mistake Men Make on Dating Apps.’

The Hook could be:

‘If women stop replying after the first message, it’s probably not your profile — it’s what you’re saying in those messages.’

The Intro could be:

‘In this video, I’ll show you the biggest mistake most men make on dating apps and how a simple messaging shift can change everything. I’ve helped hundreds of guys go from ghosted to getting real dates

by fixing this one habit. Like John, who went from struggling to get a single date to landing 5 in his first week using exactly what I’m about to show you.’

The Value section could cover 3 main points:

  1. Addressing the #1 mistake most guys make on dating apps

  2. The proper way to think about messaging

  3. Examples of messages that actually work

That’s a very comprehensive post that can be delivered in 10 minutes or less.

Then for the Ending CTA, you might say:

‘Knowing how to message someone properly is only one step to getting the kind of woman you want. Most guys can’t even get that far because their profile sucks. So if you’re serious about leveling up your dating profile, watch this next video where I break down 3 profile tweaks that instantly boost your matches.’

See how smooth that is?

It makes you want to keep learning from this person, which is going to make you trust them faster and become your go-to expert on this topic.

But getting watch time and views is only half the battle.

Now we need to turn those casual viewers into real clients and sales.

But how do you do that?

How To Turn Free Content Into Sales

Have you ever heard someone mention something valuable to you then say, ‘Link in the description’?

That one simple phrase is how creators turn casual viewers into clients.

The problem is that most online coaches & educators never think about this part.

They create content, rack up views, maybe even get some comments… but again, views don’t pay the bills.

It’s kind of like hosting a free seminar at a coffee shop.

People show up, they nod along, they even clap at the end.

But if you don’t invite them to book a meeting with you or join your email list, you walk away with nothing but a pat on the back.

That’s what happens when you just post free content: you’ve entertained, maybe even inspired… but you haven’t converted anyone.

So, the way you turn free content into clients is simple:

You move people off the platform and onto your offers.

That could be your website, your email list, your sales page, or even straight to your calendar link.

And a great tool for doing that is using a lead magnet: A free resource that solves a real problem and positions you as the expert to help them achieve their goals.

Think back to our dating example…

After sharing examples of messages that work, we could promote a freebie like this:

‘If you’re serious about leveling up your messaging game, grab my “10 Texts That Actually Get Replies” guide. You’ll get a detailed list of plug-and-play messages you can start using to land dates this week along with examples of why they work.

It’s my gift to you and completely free, link’s in the description.’

Once they click that link, they’ll land on a simple page like this where they can claim their free gift and join your email list:

From there, you can follow up with them directly in their inbox, deepen the relationship, and start making offers.

This is how online business really works: once someone’s on your email list, you have a direct line to your audience.

There’s no middleman and no algorithm deciding who gets to see your message.

That means instead of crossing your fingers and hoping a post ‘hits,’ you can consistently nurture relationships, deliver value, and invite people into your offers.

That’s how you move people from casual viewers to active buyers.

At the end of the day, posting more isn’t what gets you clients—posting with purpose does. When your content hooks attention, builds trust, and guides people to take the next step, it stops being noise and

starts becoming a magnet for the right clients.

You don’t need a massive audience or endless hours of work. You just need a simple structure, a clear message, and the confidence to lead people toward your offers.

So don’t let your ideas keep collecting dust on social media. Put the H.I.V.E. framework to work and start turning your free content into paying clients.
