How To Be Focused & Intentional

As High-Performers, we wear a lot of hats.

We have our family and relationships, our health and well-being, our personal development, our careers, our teams, our goals and dreams, and so on.

With all of these things going on, it's easy to get overwhelmed and not be present and focused on what's in front of us.

For example...

You finish working and are now spending time with your family or friends.

But...

You keep thinking about what you were working on!

Now you're not as present as you would like to be with your family or friends.

You're not deepening the relationships as much as you would ideally want to.

That sucks...

Here's how you fix it.

Practice this release meditation...

When making a transition, (i.e. going from work to family time, or family time to work time, or gym time to family time, etc.)

Say to yourself...

Release, release, release.

Keep repeating that word "release" to yourself and begin relaxing your body.

(AKA releasing tension)

Letting go of whatever you were focusing on as you make this transition to another area of your life.

Keep relaxing and RELEASING your mind and body until you feel that you have completely released everything that you were focusing on.

It could take you 1, 2, or even 5 minutes.

Go by feel.

Then...

Open your eyes and tell yourself, "I am about to go do (x)...

(x= be with family/friends; go into work or an important meeting; inspire my team; etc.)

...Who do I want to be while I do this?"

Set an intention and go.

Always come from your best self.

The idealized 2.0 version of who you would love to be.

Be that person while you make this transition.

Practice this release meditation and watch as you start to be on your A-game a lot more often.
