How to Build, Launch, and Sell a Mini Course in 30 Days or Less

Are you interested in creating an online course but feel overwhelmed by the idea of creating a lengthy and expensive course? If so, a mini course might be the perfect solution for you.

In this article, we will explore the differences between mini courses and online courses and provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to build, launch, and sell a mini course in 30 days or less.

Let’s dive in!

Mini Course vs Online Course

A mini course is typically 5-7 videos long and solves a single specific problem that your audience wants solved. The better you understand your audience's frustrations, hopes, dreams, challenges, and objections, the easier this will be.

As a great starting point, I’d recommend pricing your mini course between $47-$97. This will give you good cash flow and weed out refund requests.

On the other hand, an online course is about 8+ hours long (roughly 10-20 videos) and solves a specific problem but in more depth. Full online courses should be priced anywhere from $147-$997+.

Mini courses are an excellent way to start creating online courses as they are less daunting, less expensive and less time consuming to create.

Pro Tip: If you have an online course idea, start it out as a mini course to just get it out there. This will be like a simple baseline for your course that you can add lessons and modules to until it eventually becomes a full online course. It’s known as a Minimal Viable Product (MVP).

Building Your Mini Course Content

The first step in creating a mini course is to write everything out in a Google doc to get the structure right and to lay out the content for each lesson. After you write out your lesson titles, list 3 core ideas you want each lesson to cover as your main lesson content.

You could write your outline in a day if you really commit but aim to get this done in a week.

Once you have your outline, you can add PDF worksheets or a 30-day course blueprint to enhance the learning experience. For each lesson, give your student a downloadable PDF with simple action steps and check boxes to make your course feel more tangible.

Next, you can film with your phone using a lapel mic or as it is. You can also do what I do and create slide decks in Apple Keynote, PowerPoint, or Google Slides and record them to complete the course content. Just check out some videos on how to record your slideshow on YouTube.

Filming and editing your course should take around 1-2 weeks.

Selling Your Mini Course

Now that you have created your mini course, it's time to sell it.

I could spend an entire day giving you different tools to build, launch, and sell your mini course but there is one tool that trumps them all and that is Kajabi.

Kajabi is an excellent platform to use for hosting your mini course. It’s an all-in-one platform so you can host your website, landing pages, funnels, email list, blog, etc. in a single software that works seamlessly together.

You can create a landing page with a tool like ClickFunnels, LeadPages, even a Google Doc, or use the funnel building tool inside of Kajabi to build out your entire mini course funnel with just one click.

When it comes to your sales page, your landing page should have a strong headline that addresses the pain points of your audience. Next, introduce your offer and provide social proof and a guarantee. Finally, paint the dream of what life will be like after completing the course.
